Tomorrow Starts the Year of Blogging!!!

Hello Sweet All!
Tomorrow starts my challenge to blog everyday for one year. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow in 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As Bing says, "Let the old year die, with a fond good-bye; and our hopes held high as a kite. How can our love go wrong if... we start the new year right. " :)

The boys tried to sleep out back last night in 27 degree weather. Dad chatted with them here before bed and I brought them sausage pot pies and feet warmers to keep them cozy. They lasted until 2:00 a.m....good job Isaac and Blaise. :)

Page Break

Today I published Volume one of our "Pre- Home" Blog Book. It was so much fun to flip through the pages and see the last few months come to life again before me. So cool. :) I found a wonderful  website that did a basic but perfect job to suit my needs of a permanent professional binding with just basic format so that I can afford to do this every year. It is called "Blog 2 Print"...just an FYI if you would like to do the same thing. :)

First St. Gianna Molla Doll: Painted for my Neice

Christmas Ro

Rosalie and Mommy went to Starbucks this morning...we were completely out of coffee at home and were headed to the store for last minute ingredients for our Christmas side dishes. I love spending time one on one with the kids. Now, Blaise is home with me preparing Nano Salad and Banana Pudding to bring over to Nana Mare's.

Cupcakes baking

Tomorrow on Christmas Eve we are having some sweet friends join us for the day to play, go to the movies and then to Christmas Eve Mass...where all of the kids are in the Christmas Play...I made a Santa cake for Jake's birthday and had left over batter to be made into chocolate covered "yellow" cupcakes for our guests.

Sunday update

A gingerbread latte and a nursery catalog...what a treat!

Found that the deer had eaten off the tops of some of my apple trees so as you see I am holding a sprig in the picture to plant as a cutting. I happened to have bought root stimulate r  the day before so I brought the sprig home cut it near the buds dipped it in the root growth hormone and planted it. I am praying it will grow into its own tree!!
Jake and I were so excited to see the drywall...it is looking more and more like home. With a pencil I drew the brick pattern around the fireplace for the stone mason...I think it will look very simple and nice.

Blueberries!!!!

A huge box of very healthy blueberry bushes arrived.
I was so impressed with their packaging and vibrancy.
I will definitely order from "True Vine Ranch" again. :)

Thinkin and thinkin

Okay, so...it is a very blue house. Honestly, the color makes me happy...part of me says "Be more normal!" but then part of me says "Naaa!":) Maybe with the white trim it will look more subtle. If I can save on repainting and put the extra toward the farm I would like to. :)
I also have a more definite goal in mind for the farm. I would like to have it producing enough to cover my grocery bill and my farming expenses within 3 years. To do this I am going to get two binders...one for the farm expenses and one for our grocery bills. I am simply going to staple all receipts for each month on a piece of construction paper and place it in a page protector. At the end of the month I will write the total clearly at the bottom of the page. The more we grow and store...hopefully the lower our grocery bill goes. I will try to make a profit in order to cover the "left over" grocery expense and the feed and seed costs.
Feeding the family/ Funding the Farm
hopefully by the fall of 2017.

Happy Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception children!
We had tea and apple muffins for breakfast, Mass and then headed out to the land.
Blaise built a fire, I blessed the new house with Holy Water and Isaac and Dad cut up a fallen tree for firewood...to share with our friends.
The little kids are now napping and Mrs. Claus is making gingerbread for the class parties and wrapping somethings the elves brought.
Have a blessed and happy Sunday, All.  :)

Sharks and Safety :)

Here is our new utility gate!!
It is wonderful to be able to monitor the traffic that is coming to the home site.
Goodness gracious I cannot wait to actually call this home. :)
Thank you Lord for this day and this project being completed.
We had shark for dinner tonight...Abe...amazing Uncle Abe...caught this 5 footer off the shore of Galveston...The meat was extremely tender and not at all fishy...tender and salty...mmmm.
It was so nice to taste the ocean again.

Light walk

The little kids and I enjoyed a walked down our Christmas lit street tonight.
Such a happy time of year.

Say, "Cheeseburger!"

A view through the walls...insulation is being sprayed in today...we will have fun looking back on when we could see from one end of the house to the other!!!

A room with a view

This little bedroom is quickly becoming my favorite...the view of our neighbors barn reminds me of something I would see in my country magazines. I feel so blessed to have this spot of land to live on. I can't wait to spend my days outside in the glorious sunshine...planting and caring for my little farm.

Our purple house

So, we have been working very hard these last couple days
having our gate installed and choosing our final house colors.
I was at first very sad that the color I chose turned out periwinkle on a large scale but then remembered that the money we saved on the garden/landscaping would cover the cost to repaint. Ahhh...a sigh of relief.
You may be able to see from this picture the darker grey on the right side of the garage window...it will give us the subtle grey/blue I was looking for....hopefully. :)

Daddys grass

Jake seeded the front pasture with rye...and a spot in the backyard as well. It looked so pretty coming in that the little kids jumped down to "pet" it. :)

Gate I am building this afternoon

Went to Tractor Supply and loaded up the materials with three kids in tow. :)

Four to choose from...:)

Your opinion please

These are two different colors though they look so similar. :)
The left is called Gale Force , the right is Naval.
Jake and I like both...what is your opinion? :)

Oh my periwinkle house...

Changing the paint color to something more pleasant...i will update you today...
