Blueberry Kitchen :)

The kitchen cabinets are blue... the counter will look like "cream of wheat"...white with tiny tan speckles and the walls will be a "wheat"color. I really really love it. It cozies up the space...but most of all it makes me feel like I am walking into a big "hug". I LOVE blue. :)

It's snowing!!!!!

Snow flurries in Texas :)

We had a few snow flurries this afternoon
so I let Blaise practice his fire starting skills in the fire pit outback. :)

With a little assistance from the cold wind...the fire lit quickly. Way to go Blaise!!
I am proud of you!!!

Sprinkler Project

Yesterday while the kids tried out the new driveway...Jake, Dwayne and I measured and sketched out our sprinkler plan. It was nice to solidify the sizes and dimensions of the square foot garden boxes...we will put a small sprinkler in each one so that they can be amply watered in the summer.

This morning Dwayne came over with his final sketch of where each head will come up around the house and he and Jake will go to the land at 7:30 am Saturday to begin  installing it. I will probably follow them out there with the kids so that the boys can help lay PVC pipe and I can protect the rest of the orchard with fencing. I may if I have time go ahead and set the columns for the grape arbor.

The First One to Drop It's a Nerd :)

Two more of the kids came down with the flu last night so we spent much of our day helping our sick... For a little breather Blaise and Rosalie went out in the sunshine with the dodge ball and played a little "First One to Drop It's a Nerd".  It makes the kids laugh and I love that.  Fun and  sunshine gave me some energy to come back inside and continue loving on our sick people. :)

A cold walk to Tazza cafe with sweet Isaac

I love spending time with you Isaac...you make me smile and laugh. You are such a good boy!!!

Isaac date

Isaac wrote me a little note asking for us to have a date together. It made me so happy to be asked that by my precious ten year old. He and I laughed and talked about dogs, karate, baseball and St. John the Baptist. He makes me laugh and I can't help but smile when I see his shining face.

Lavender, Peppermint and Cherry Tomatoes

Today our blue lavender, sweet baby girl cherry tomatoes and peppermint seeds came in from Park Seed Nursery. Rosalie and Justice helped me transplant the slowly growing cabbage and leeks to create space to start our seeds. :)

Thank you Rosalie for helping me take blog pictures! :)

Sweet Home Alabama

Our Guitar Lessons!

Our very first guitar lessons started today! Our youth director came over for an hour lesson with Isaac and Blaise and stayed afterward for dinner and four square. It was great to hear the kids laughing and playing music and games together. What a blessing!!

The little toes and cute daddy reading to his little guy made me smile.

Color of the universe

It feels like a miracle when you find the right shade of tan. Creamy and pleasant...relaxing and nice.

A nice rainy day. Kids and I ate cookies and watched Leave it to Beaver. Fireplace should be in and mailbox too. We will drive out to the land on Sunday after Mass and take a picture for you. Sleep in peace my friends!

Sweet Bindi had 12 puppies!!! I have been waiting for these little ones for such a long time. When Bindi was 4 months old I hoped to be patient enough for her to grow up be bred to Bosco and perhaps have a puppy. I am still hoping to raise the money to get one. They are lovely and grow up to be such majestic creatures. From spending hours with the dogs today I realized this is the right breed for our family...I love their calm nature. That's just the addition we need for our farm.

Post Op

Today was a post op appointment for vein surgery #2. It went well. :) We had a good inside day ordering the last bit of landscaping for the outside of the house. 50 rose hedge bushes for the front pasture and 20 Abraham Darby's (in honor of Abe's 29th birthday today;) ) for underneath the windows. I also bought blue lavender seeds, sweet baby girl tomato seeds and peppermint seeds. I figure they would look and smell pretty around the rose bushes. I also checked on the blackberries and cherry bushes we heeled in out back. They are doing okay but I am anxious to get them in the ground at the land as soon as I can build the garden boxes.

A note from the Vatican

Our pre home blog was published nicely into a book through blog2print and I am very happy with the quality. It was so exciting to receive it in the mail but a letter back from the Vatican was truly the high light. It makes me feel so loved to hear back from the Pope! It is very encouraging to my heart to have a bit of contact with our humble shepherd ...and to have his prayers for my family means a lot to me.

Super tired but ToTally decluttered

With loving help from kids and cousins we are finally decluttered. No more Pandoras boxes. Every drawer and cabinet cleaned out!!! Moving day should be much easier. Thank you Lord for such a good day.
